About Us

Jane is a retired teacher, reading specialist, and professor of education. She is the mother of 2 wonderful daughters, and we are proud of our 2 sons-in-law, and we absolutely love our 7 grandchildren. We were friends for some time, both attending Eastern Oregon College where we started our romance that is now 55 years in length.
Ron spent several years in education as a high school math teacher, counselor and basketball coach. After several years he moved to sales and became a sales manager. He sold medical software for some 25 years building up travel airline miles and hotel points. They have both come in handy in our travel adventures.
When we were both teaching we accepted jobs in Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands. Our travel bug was lit while on the island. Ron also became a photographer while on Kwaj with training gained through correspondence classes (the predecessor of online classes).

As a couple, we have been traveling to Hawaii for the past 35 years and to Italy several times over the past 12. We enhance our travel with cruising as we see more places that we would otherwise not reach. In our later years we have traveled mostly as a couple, but have truly enjoyed traveling with friends to Australia and New Zealand, and Italy.
We did the unthinkable in 2015 and bought an RV Trailer. Our motivation for this decision was to be with our two Labrador Retrievers, Annie, and Molly, half-sisters who just love the adventure of RV traveling. You cannot imagine how much Jane and I have enjoyed the adventures in our later years with our RV and Annie and Molly. Be sure to read our stories and have fun with the RV.
We enjoy sharing our travel experiences with you and look forward to our next adventure. One of the issues that we are very conscious of is the costs associated with travel. We save and when we are ready, of course with free airline tickets, we plan our itinerary and off we go.
As ‘traveling seniors’ we aim to color our posts with consideration for the older, ’60Plus’ travelers, but hope our ideas and experiences are helpful to all. Our ‘Traveling Mission’ is to make it fun, consider the budget, and get to know the people and the cultures in the cities and countries we find ourselves in.
We have seven grandchildren. They used to spend holidays at Grandma and Boppa’s house. This is the setting for the bedtime book that Boppa published about the story he told as they were settling down and getting ready to sleep. Take a look at Notty Nectar.
