The Wonder and Beauty of Tuscany…..

Tuscany with image of Pienza

Why “Italy Just for You”? As we travel, we find that after we have seen the “required” sights, we keep going back to what we love: a taste of the culture, the countryside, the towns we love the most, the people.

Simply, the wonder and beauty of Tuscany! And the towns of Monticchiello , Assisi, and Pienza!

Oh, let’s not forget Rome, Venice and Florence!

And Cruising the Mediterranean, both east and west from Rome. Ports we love: Portofino, Barcelona, Santorini, Mykonos, Palma de Mallorca, and many more.

Now that you have a taste of Italy and to some degree understand our passion, please join us as we explore together!

But first, you may want to follow Jane in beginning to Plan for a Trip to Italy.

I hope you are excited, because there is more to do and to see!

Notice the town on the hill in the above photo? Are you not just itching to walk the streets, capture the views from the terraces, stop and have an incredible bite to eat, shop and just let yourself enjoy Pienza? Even though we have been there a couple of times we WILL return and visit Pienza again.

After a while, we are finished with museums and churches. We want to relax and savor the people we meet, shop a little, take lots of photos, and always eat marvelous food. We plan trips “just for us”, and we hope we can help you do the same.

What do you really want to do? Do you want to see all the main sights? Do you want to learn to cook from Italian experts? Do you want to shop for the perfect souvenir? Do you want to record photos that can grace your home when you return? Do you want to interact with the culture, the people, and the food of Italy? Ask yourselves these questions and plan your trips accordingly.

We work to keep you informed of the ins and outs of Italy travel, where to stay, what to do and other topics that we have experienced. We will try to keep you updated with the latest posts.

People travel to Italy for the sights of the cities – Rome, Venice, Florence – but the lure of Italy that causes us to continue to return is the romantic wonder and beauty of the countryside of Tuscany.

Tuscany countryside, the beauty of it all

Not only are the views impressive, as shown above, but the ‘cities on the hills’ are a treasure for shopping, taking pictures, dining at all times of the day and just walking and getting lost.

Carve out at least 3-4 days in your itinerary, rent a car and travel to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Pienza, Monticchiello, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Chianti, and many more that you can find as you move throughout Tuscany and the surrounding areas.

(As you continue to dive into the information throughout this travel blog on Italy you will find LINKS, as in the examples above on this home page. These particular links will allow you to navigate to other posts on that subject within Italy Just For You. On other pages where we are discussing a certain location, say, Florence, you will run across LINKS that will introduce you to the cities’ hotels, tours of museums or food tours, etc. When you click on these links it will take you to a tour / hotel that you can schedule if it meets your needs. We include these LINKS so you do not have to do further research and can get the info and schedule directly from our post. Be informed that in providing you with this feature, if you do purchase a ‘tour’ from the LINK, we receive a small monetary benefit.)

Look over our last 3 Itineraries for any travel ideas. Our next scheduled trip is set for May or 2026 when we will be exploring our favorites, and we will set sail on a 11 day Celebrity cruise in the Mediterranean. We just cannot stay away!

While you experience the adventure in Tuscany, you also will never forget the sights, sounds, tastes, shopping and the culture of the ‘big 3’, Rome, Venice and Florence.
